Usage & Tactics

The taiga can be treated as an improvement to the bayonet, housing more damage, dismemberment capabilities, and blocking. It only takes 3 inventory slots making it a great melee to carry with a decently priced gun. Taking 4 hits to down an unarmored player, paired with its high mobility, makes it a great counter to slower weapons and smaller melees. It should generally be treated like a knife as opposed to its older brother; the Military Machete, since its time to kill and singular hit damage isn't the best. Overall, the Taiga machete is a great beginner melee and can hold its own to much better melees when used properly.

Can dismember and decapitate. Cheap. Only 3 slots. Can block a lot of weapons. Causes bleed. Low stamina consumption. Can be found for free in Weapon Crates. Blocked by most other weapons. Bad hitbox. Short range. Slow time to kill.

Patch history

Prior to changes in the Unlocking system, the Taiga unlocking price was $7,500. In the Public Dev server version of the game, the Taiga Machete used to be a Meat Cleaver, however this was removed and replaced to the current Taiga, to balance things out more than before.
