Description

Jack O' Bot appeared exclusively in Nightmare Carnival as the final boss of the Halloween 2019 Event. It had a high amount of health and three abilities. Despite its very slow speed and the huge length of the map, it was very difficult to defeat due to a combination of its abilities and the enemies it spawned. It had three abilities: The first ability it could perform was its Jack O' Bombs attack. With this attack, Jack O' Bot shot three explosive pumpkins at three random towers. On impact, the pumpkins would explode, and all towers within the explosion radius would be set on fire (stunning them). This disabled them from attacking for a long period of time. Its second ability was the Jack O' Minigun. With this attack, Jack O' Bot shot lasers at nearby towers, doing so in a sweeping fashion, stunning all towers hit for a period of time. Its third, and final, ability was Hallowed Laugh. This ability could spawn Jaxes, Mummies, Frankensteins, Ghosts, Witches, Bats, Swamp Things, Demons, Scarecrows, Strong Mummies and Clowns in front of the Jack O' Bot.

Appearance

Jack O' Bot was a giant pumpkin robot armed with a laser machine gun and an arm cannon. It had a pumpkin head (similar to ), pumpkins on its shoulders and a fleshed-out torso, but everything else appeared to be mechanical. It had a skull below its torso, and a metal pad on its chest. It was extremely tall due to its mechanical legs.

Strategy

Use towers with high DPS and decent range against this boss. Towers such as the Minigunner and Turret are strongly recommended against this boss. Once Jack O' Bot goes out of range of these towers, relocate them to further weaken the boss. Outlaws and even Sentries, when set to Strongest, can be very effective at dealing damage to Jack O' Bot. Rocketeers are very useful at dealing with the enemies Jack O' Bot spawns because these enemies normally spawn in hordes. The Military Base can also deal lots of damage to Jack O' Bot (and the enemies it spawns) when upgraded to Level 5. Commanders are highly recommended since they can boost the firerate of towers. Because Jack O' Bot stuns towers with its Jack O' Minigun and Jack O' Bombs abilities, the Medic's ability can be very useful in cleansing your towers from Jack O' Bot's stun, provided it is not stunned itself. The Pyromancer and Freezer (including the Ice Age ability) cannot slow down Jack O' Bot, but they can still be useful in slowing down the enemies that Jack O' Bot spawns. Do not underestimate the enemies Jack O' Bot spawns, especially the Swamp Thing and Jaxe, as their high health can be extremely detrimental. Place towers near the end of the map to prevent these enemies reaching the end. Freezers are recommended to delay the Jaxe. If you can, try not to cluster towers close together as they will all get stunned when attacked with Jack O' Bot's Jack O' Bombs and Jack O' Minigun abilities.

Patch history

Jack O' Bot's name is a combination of the words "jack o' lantern" and "robot". Jack O' Bot was likely based on the Pumpkinator boss from R2DA which, in turn, was based on the Pumpkinator from Fairly Odd Parents. However, its name was based on the Jack-O-Bots from Fairly Odd Parents. A similar enemy to Jack O' Bot can be seen in the legacy Hidden Wave, the Mechanical Rot. The Mechanical Rot may be a reincarnation or rebuilt version of Jack O' Bot, hence its name. Jack O' Bot was the second enemy to use R15 animations, after the Gold Titan. In Act II of the Lunar Overture Event, Jack O' Bot is the final boss, its name changed to Jack-o-Bot. It is confirmed in this event that Jack O' Bot was actually sent by The Umbra to fight the players.
