Appearance

The appearance of the Hellephant is almost identical to the original Mammoth, however instead, it's color scheme is red to suit its environment and it has red glowing eyes and no head fluff.

Behavior

A hellephant will wander aimlessly until a player gets within its detection radius or deals damage. If a hellephant has entered its passive state far enough away from their original spawn point, they will teleport back, creating a puff of smoke. After being killed, a hellephant may respawn after 2 Days.

Patch history

  • According to a tester and the ping feature, the real name of the entity is called "Hellephant" and not "Lava mammoth".

  • Hellephants deal 10 less damage than bears.

  • The Hellephant can be found in the Volcano Biome, contrary to the original Mammoth who spawns in the Snow Biome.

  • The possible reason that the Hellephant was added was due to the fact the Big Game Hunter was heavily nerfed when the Polar Bear and the Mammoth got deleted temporarily for the Volcanic Biome.

  • The Hellephant is the only entity to drop items cooked without the need of the Burning Effect or cooking it with the campfire.
