Behavior
When a night begins, there is a chance of a short cutscene involving playing. Afterwards, the following text will appear: "The Ram has woken up" Once the cutscene has played out, The Ram will be able to spawn. If The Ram appears at night, The Deer will not spawn, unless a Cultist Attack occurs on the same night The Ram will chase the player similarly to The Deer, occasionally stopping in place to prepare to charge, as shown by a rising meter. Once the meter is full, it will charge towards the player, destroying trees and damaging players in the process. However, the direction it is facing once it stops does not signify the direction it will charge. Like The Deer and The Owl, The Ram cannot be killed or tamed. It can be stunned by the Campfire or a Flashlight when walking, but is unaffected when charging. To avoid the charge, players must move to the left or right, since it has a poor turning radius when charging. The Ram is a hostile entity, making running hard. Similarly to The Deer, The Ram is faster than the player when walking, but slower than the player when sprinting. However, when charging, it is much faster than the player even while sprinting.
Biomes
The Ram can spawn in the following biomes: -; Locations: The Ram does not spawn in any specific locations, only at night.
Patch history
Prior to its release, The Ram was called "The Goat" by many fans. The Ram deals the least damage without its charge compared to The Deer and The Owl. The Ram can knock down trees while charging, which can be abused to easily get it to knock down big trees for wood without players needing to cut them. It is unknown if The Ram is based on a regular male sheep or the male bighorn sheep. Additionally, The Ram is most likely based on a black bighorn sheep because of its black fur and sheep eyes. In the picture of the Volcanic Biome Update II and the game's thumbnail, The Ram has a noticeable grey color scheme compared to its black horns, cream colored snout, and brown fur in the game. In the picture above "something is coming" The Ram's pose is similar to an urban legend/cryptid of "The Goatman". The Ram can spawn Alpha Wolves to chase down the player. The Ram has a bug where it can spawn inside the Campfire and attack, though this has a very low chance and the player can just use a Flashlight to scare it away. (It gets initially stunned, then recognizes itself being near the Campfire, running away). Some players often use The Ram charge on a row of trees (if the player plants them) make it easier to gather wood than chopping it. There's a bug where The Ram can spawn the same night as The Deer as when the player outruns The Ram, The Deer magically spawns in the same night. Some fans often call The Ram "Krampus", due to its similar appearance and behaviour to a figure named Krampus.
