The Horses of the Apocalypse are unique variants of the Horse. Each one will only appear once per game (except in Endless Mode), with 4 appearing in total. Each one has a unique ability intended to help players. They spawn being ridden by Covenant Knights along with either 5 burning Runner Zombies or Werewolves spawning nearby. Similar to Horses ridden by Outlaws, they will not be targeted by enemies in normal circumstances. Unlike regular Horses, they cannot use Horse Carts. There are 4 types of Apocalypse Horses, which are detailed below in the order they are encountered. War - When ridden by a player, covers nearby entities in fire. Death - When ridden by a player, covers nearby friendly entities in Angel Tears. Famine - When ridden by a player, strikes nearby areas with Lightning Bolts if there are entities nearby. Pestilence - When ridden by a player, turns nearby enemies into allies. Famine and Pestilence are unobtainable through normal means in 40km gamemodes due to spawning outside of the map.

Patch history

They were also referred to as "Magic Horses" by the developers in an update note. They used to work even when dead until developers made it so players cannot sit on dead Horses anymore. All of the horses are equipped with a golden Saddle by default, being the only horses capable of doing so, and as a result, being the only way to see or use a golden saddle. The horses' names and appearances are based on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, found in Revelations 6 of The Bible. Despite this, however, they do not have unique riders, nor do their effects line up with how they are described. Their original names are War, Death, Famine, and Conquest (not Pestilence). None of the horses, nor their riders, are able to be sold or otherwise turned in for cash. RiccoMiller confirmed in a voice call that the Apocalypse Horses came through the Strange Machine from Unicorn Island. Category:Entities Category:Passive Entities Category:Animals
