Aliens are exclusive entities found in the exclusive Alien Biome first introduced in the Edison's Revenge gamemode. In Edison's Revenge mode, they can spawn in groups across the biome. They can also be dropped onto players by a UFO during the day, even when the player is under a roof. They have a melee and ranged variant, which are functionally identical to Normal Zombies (before their rework) and Sheriff Zombies, respectively. They later make a reappearance in the Yeat Event gamemode, spawning in the 2093 Biome along the tracks in groups, as well as in great numbers after lighting the fuse of the biome's obstacle. Additionally, a numerous amount of them will spawn ambushing when you turned the crank in Yeat's Concert. Now, they can be found in Alien Mode, spawning near the player during the mode in large numbers, although they will stop spawning after a while. Using the Alien class, the player will receive 4 friendly Aliens at the start of the game, always wielding Rayguns. These Aliens do not function like normal friendly entities, but instead will stand still and not follow the player, while also be draggable, weldable, and can be sacked. When an enemy is in range, the Alien will walk to the enemy and fire their weapons, dealing decent damage, unless they're welded, which in case they'll function like turrets, firing at enemies. One interesting thing about them is that they do what the player do, so if the player sits, they also sits down, and if the player jump, they also jump.

Strategies

Players should constantly check above them and minimize the time spent indoors during the day to avoid UFO ambushes. Aliens are extremely dangerous when dropped from the UFO due to their potential to spawn directly next to players. While Melee Aliens are already dangerous due to the element of surprise, ranged Aliens are even more dangerous due to dealing considerable damage per shot while hitting most of them due to being up close. Players should always be on their guard when inside a biome where Aliens can spawn and not stay in the same place for too long. It is recommended to obtain Armor as soon as possible to increase the chances of making it out of an Alien ambush alive. The Ironclad class can be useful for this, since it prevents players from having to rely on luck to obtain the necessary Armor from General Stores or Abandoned Buildings. The Tycoon class is very useful against Aliens due to the damage boost helping kill them faster and the health boost reducing the chances of dying. It is recommended to drink Snake Oils and run as soon as you get ambushed by Aliens to reduce the chances of dying. The Ghost class can negate the damage easily, but the player have to be mindful of other melee enemies when raiding. To reduce contact with them, it is recommended to minimize the time spent in the Alien Biome. Players should be wary when shopping in Fortified Towns, since UFOs can appear at any time during the day to ambush distracted shoppers. In multiplayer games, players should spread out a bit to minimize the damage caused by a UFO ambush.

Lore Theory

Although there is no explanation of how Aliens appeared on Earth, it is theorized that they were flying around in UFOs until they crashed due to technology malfunctioning, forcing the Aliens to reside in the desert. However, some UFOs still deploy Aliens, likely to investigate or attack. Alternatively, they may simply make an appearance for events and are not actually part of the game's lore. The release of Alien Mode contradict this, as it is clear the Aliens are "invading" multiple times now, and they have something to do with the lore.

Patch history

Ranged Aliens use a modified version of the Electrocutioner, except it doesn't fire Lightning bolts. The sound effect when firing is shared, however. Melee Aliens appear to be a direct reskin of the Normal Zombie, since they share the same stats, animations, and sounds, except for the punching sound effect which originates from Werewolves. Alien Their corpses used to be named "Zombie" during their first appearance during the Halloween event. This was likely due to the developers reusing assets from Zombies and forgetting to rename it. This was fixed when they were added back to the game in the Stability & QOL update. Additionally, the "Zombies Attack!" soundtrack may play if many Aliens are near the player, further confirming the fact that they are technically Zombies. It is unknown why these Aliens attack players on sight, despite the UFO that could appear during the Eggstravaganza event providing assistance to them instead (by dropping Easter Eggs). The punching sound made by melee Aliens is the same as the one made by Werewolves, Nikola Tesla, and Lincoln's Ghost. Ranged Aliens have a walk speed of 16 in the game files, though this doesn't seem to take effect in actual gameplay. Aliens are extremely disliked by many players due to their potential to instantly end a run without any sort of reasonable warning. When Aliens were first added to the game in the Edison's Revenge gamemode, they had no clothes. However, they were given spacesuits in the Yeat Event update.
