Overview[1]
Moby is a Secret fish found during the Blue Whale Migration event in the Ocean. It is required to obtain a Song of the Deep and The Moby Bobber.
Moby is a Secret fish obtainable in The Ocean when a Whale Migration event is active due to it being a it only has a 20% chance of spawning. Due to its high rarity, it makes for a challenging catch, moving erratically across the fishing bar due to its value of 1%. When reeling it in, -95% Progress Speed is applied. This penalty can be reduced via Progress Speed buffs from enchantments and rod passives. When hooked, a will pop above the player's head, and a shimmering sound is played - as with every other Secret fish.

Notes
The Whale Migration event can be forcibly spawned by spamming Sundial Totems / Smokescreen Totems and Tempest Totems, due to the event's 20% chance to happen during Rain. Note: Any weather-changing totems can be used such as Windset Totem, Smokescreen Totem, and Eclipse Totem and then use Tempest Totem. As long as Moby hasn't been depleted from the pool, it can still be caught no matter how many Blue Whales have been depleted from the pool. One Moby each can be exchanged for a at Moosewood with Captain Ahab. Instead of using the traditional system, Moby has a fixed 15% chance to replace a Blue Whale when caught. To better understand this, imagine Moby as a 3rd Blue Whale that is ~6.67x rarer than the other 2. Despite Moby having a lower minimum weight than Blue Whale, it cannot be caught if the rod's minimum weight is less than the Blue Whale's minimum weight. More than one Moby can be caught per pool, if players stall Moby when hooked. By stalling Moby, it will prevent Moby being depleted from said pool, giving every player in the server a chance to get Moby. The initial catch for a Moby is not affected by any source of weight boosts, so a Big or Giant Moby with an unappraisable mutation is not possible. The only way to obtain a Big/Giant Moby naturally from catching it is from utilizing the 2x weight boost from the Blue Moon buff. The Moby can also be caught with the Luminous Larva bait which is a highly suggested bait instead of the Night Shrimp.

What does this mean?
Fisch's in-game currency. A fish's value is its documented average sell price in C$ — what it sells for at its average weight. A rod's value is its documented shop cost. Both are in-game facts from the community wiki, not a trading consensus. Values are not comparable across games.

Patch history
The Moby and the Blue Whale are the fifth and sixth cetacean added to Fisch, after the Dolphin, Eternal Frostwhale, the Orca and Ancient Orca. Both were added in the 1.20.0 update. Moby is based off the novel Moby-Dick by Herman Melville. The name of this fish was supposed to be Moby Dick, but since it would be censored in Roblox, it was shortened to Moby instead. The Moby used to be known as the hardest fish to hook (including Limiteds), with a roughly 0.054% chance to be hooked during an Aurora Borealis. (Assuming the player was using an Ethereal Prism Rod without any boosting enchantments, alongside Seaweed bait during Summer). The chances of Moby being hooked and spawning were later buffed in the 1.29.0 update. Spawn chance increased by 4x, and hook chance by 7.5x.
