Patch history
This weapon doesn't seem to have its own properties section in the game files. It likely uses that of either the Pickaxe or the Sword. This is shared with the Cavalry Sword which has identical stats. The Tomahawk used to deal less damage than the Cavalry Sword. This was changed in a later update. In reality, the Tomahawk is a weapon used by many Native American tribes and nations for centuries. It has also seen use within the United States military. The word "tomahawk" comes from the Algonquian word “tamahaac”, meaning “to cut with an axe.” Native American tribes originally used tomahawks as versatile tools for chopping, hunting, and self-defense. The blade was used for cutting, while the blunt end (often a hammer or spike) could be used for crushing or puncturing. Oddly enough, the starting Tomahawk that the Survivalist spawns with can be sold for an extra $15.
