Description
The Brute is the final boss of Easy mode and one of the Challenge Trials mini-bosses. It also appeared in The Takeover Event. For most of its appearances it is a Boss enemy, making it have various resistances and immunities, which includes being resistant to stuns from stunning towers, immune to being frozen by freezing towers, slowed down by the Toxic Gunner, Electroshocker confused by the Jester, damaged from the Nuke's fallout and slowed down by the DJ Booth. Unlike most other final bosses however, it is not considered one by default, meaning there are some circumstances where it lacks these immunities. The Brute has very high health compared to anything that spawns before, but to compensate, it walks very slowly. It has two abilities. Its first, Smash, in which it slams its fists onto a tower or unit, stunning it and other nearby towers for 3 seconds and doing 1,000 damage to units. Its second, Throw, has it throw a rock at a nearby tower or unit, which then splits into four smaller rocks. Each rock stuns towers for 5 seconds and does 500 damage to units per rock. It is completely unable to use any of these abilities in PVP.
Appearance
The Brute is a large hulking humanoid with a waist and lower arms in its rig. It has a pale green skin color, an orange torso, waist and legs, with the former having white stripes. It wears black shoes and has a black harness with white buckles. It also has black braces with white spikes and chains attached, along with indented lower arms. It also has two heads, with the left one being larger. Whenever one of its fists hits the ground, the screen shakes and makes a stomp sound. On death, the Brute will repeatedly bang its lower arms on its chest before falling forward onto the ground.
Strategy
As the Brute has the lowest health out of all main final bosses, starter towers like the Sniper, Soldier or Shotgunner are capable of defeating it. The Sniper can especially be a decent option due to its Stun Immunity gained from being a cliff tower. Since this is the cliff Stun Immunity, it also means that the Sniper can be used as a distraction due to it still being targetable by enemy abilities. Strong DPS towers like the Minigunner or Ranger can also be used against it, though they are not necessary outside of Challenge Trials. As the Brute only has stunning attacks, splash damage towers like the Demoman are not particularly useful against the Brute. You can place down towers like the Scout or use a unit spawner like the Crook Boss to create distractions which the Brute will target instead of your DPS towers, though this is not necessary due to its rather low health.

Patch history
The Brute shared its design with the Dummy Boss from the Tutorial before the v1.74.0 update. Despite sharing the same design and icon, they were two separate enemies and therefore give two separate Logbooks. The Logbook it drops will not unlock its legacy version in Sandbox mode, as it has been completely removed from the game.
