Overview
The Void Reaver was the final boss in Hardcore mode before getting replaced by its modern version. Currently, it can only be spawned in Sandbox mode if the player has the Sandbox Plus+ gamepass. It moves at an extremely slow speed, but it has an extremely high amount of health, higher than all other non-event enemies in the game except the Nuclear Monster. The Void Reaver has many abilities that can stun towers, decrease base health, destroy and kill units or increase its speed.

Description
The Void Reaver was the final boss in Hardcore mode before getting replaced by its modern version. Currently, it can only be spawned in Sandbox mode if the player has the Sandbox Plus+ gamepass. It moves at an extremely slow speed, but it has an extremely high amount of health, higher than all other non-event enemies in the game except the Nuclear Monster. The Void Reaver has many abilities that can stun towers, decrease base health, destroy and kill units or increase its speed. It is one of the toughest enemies in the game.
Appearance
The Void Reaver wields a dark brown broadsword with a bright purple glowing crystal. It has black reflective skin, but its right arm is purple. It has dark purple curvy horns on its head and arms. It wears granite armor, and its chestplate is purple and grey. In the middle of the chestplate is a purple gem. It also wears a purple and grey glove and dark purple boots. Its legs are purple granite. It has a mask that resembles an African tribal mask and has six eyes. When Void Rage is activated, it transforms; its horns, eyes and right arm glow pink. Its mask is destroyed. Pink particles are now emitted from its hands and legs. When Void's Deathwish is activated, it will put its hand slightly forward and significantly speed up.
Strategy
This strategy refers to the state of the game while the Void Reaver still appeared in the Hardcore mode. The Ranger and Pursuit are recommended to deal with the Void Reaver as they are immune to stuns. Be aware that Ranger; and Pursuit when upgraded on the top path, do not have hidden detection, so they cannot deal with the Souls that spawn from the Void Reaver. However, the Pursuit's missiles may indirectly hit the Souls spawned from the Void Reaver if there is a detectable enemy nearby. Air-based towers, such as the Ace Pilot, cannot be stunned by the Void Reaver. The Turret, Golden Minigunner and Accelerator are recommended towers against the Void Reaver due to their high DPS and ability to target the Souls that the Void Reaver can spawn. Turrets and Golden Minigunner can help with Souls if placed at the back, as they will not be hit by the Void Reaver's Void Slam. However, if the Accelerators are locked onto the Void Reaver, they cannot target the Souls spawned by them. The Engineer can be very useful due to its sentries having high DPS while also being immune to damage from stuns while their shield is active. This shield is only active when the Engineer is not stunned. The Medic is recommended because it can shield the Engineer from the stun, preventing the Engineer itself from being stunned. This makes sentries practically invulnerable to damage from abilities. The Medic is also unable to be stunned by the Void Reaver. The Void Reaver has extremely high health and becomes significantly faster during its Void Deathwish ability.
Patch history
The Void Reaver was originally called Paidion as it was an enemy made by a contributor. This is the second enemy that can damage base health without dying, the first being the Swordmaster. The Umbra, Ducky D00M, Mecha-claus, Rift Walker and Narrator could also damage the base health without dying. However, unlike the Void Reaver, they could actually decrease your base health to zero. Upon death, it collapses onto the floor with two hands on the floor and kneeling down. After a short period, it starts to dematerialize. This could be a reference to Thanos' Snap. This could also be a reference to Tower Battles Void, which has a similar death animation. The Void Reaver used to be the second major boss that spawned twice in the same wave prior to the 23rd of April 2022. The first to do so was the Gravekeeper, but it was replaced by the Grave Digger. After the 23rd of April 2022, the Void Reaver only spawns once at Wave 50 of Hardcore Mode. The Void Reaver's rage mode scream and death sound are the yell sound from Call of Duty: Black Ops II, specifically, the Zombies mode. The Void Reaver has the slowest speed for any boss in the game outside of its Void's Deathwish ability. The Void Reaver's theme, Raze the Void, was first played on the final wave during Hardcore Testing BETA. This was changed when it was added to the Overhaul Update. The second version of the Void Reaver's theme is a remix of Devourer of Gods from Terraria Calamity Mod. This was changed back in the Frost Invasion Update due to a copyright issue with the original creator.
