Description

The Grave Digger is the final boss for Casual mode and one of the Challenge Trials mini-bosses. It also appeared in The Classic Event. The Grave Digger has Stun Immunity, reducing the effectiveness of the stun from stunning towers like the Electroshocker and Warden, while also preventing it from being knocked back. As it is a Boss enemy, it is also immune to being frozen by freezing towers, slowed down by the Toxic Gunner, confused by the Jester, damaged from the Nuke's fallout and slowed down by the DJ Booth. It has very high health compared to anything that spawns before, but to compensate, it moves very slowly. In addition, it can stun towers and damage units by performing its Stomp or Shovel abilities, both having different stun duration and damage values. It can also perform its Summon ability which spawns multiple enemies. These enemies all have different odds of spawning and start a delay before another enemy be spawned. The Grave Digger was replaced by the Toilet Boss in Headache Headquarters.

Enemies Spawned

Normal 15% chance of being spawned. 0.05 second delay before another enemy can be spawned. Speedy 15% chance of being spawned. 0.05 second delay before another enemy can be spawned. Slow 14% chance of being spawned. 0.1 second delay before another enemy can be spawned. Skeleton 14% chance of being spawned. 0.1 second delay before another enemy can be spawned. Bolt 14% chance of being spawned. 0.2 second delay before another enemy can be spawned. Normal Boss 14% chance of being spawned. 0.2 second delay before another enemy can be spawned. Hazmat 14% chance of being spawned. 0.3 second delay before another enemy can be spawned.

Strategy

Multiple early-game towers like the Militant, Hunter, Crook Boss and Cowboy should be enough to defeat the Grave Digger. High DPS towers, like the Minigunner, Ranger or Accelerator can also be used, though they can be quite expensive for Casual mode. The Commander, Medic and DJ Booth should be used to support these towers. Be aware that the Grave Digger can spawn multiple enemies at once. This means that if the Accelerator locks onto the Grave Digger, you may need to place other towers like the Minigunner or Turret to deal with the summoned enemies. Rocketeers, Demomen and Mortars can be helpful against this boss as they are able to kill the enemies summoned from the Summon ability fairly well. Towers near the path are vulnerable to the Stomp and Shovel abilities. Placing towers away from the path can help avoid some of them getting stunned. Towers with Stun Immunity, like the Ranger, Brawler or Gatling Gun can be used as they cannot be stunned. The Medic can also be used to make towers which are not normally immune to stuns immune to them. If you want to kill the Grave Digger quickly, instant damage methods such as airdropping Riot Guards or multiple Bear Traps from Trapper can be effective. Using the Nuke consumable can greatly wound the Grave Digger by reducing it to 10,000 health, though this is not recommended as the Grave Digger is fairly weak and the consumable could be used for bigger threats.

Patch history

There is a Roblox bundle based on the Grave Digger, namely the Grave Digger bundle. Weirdly, the bundle used to call the Grave Digger a goblin in its name, despite it not being a goblin in-game. The individual items of the bundle, such as the Grave Digger Goblin - Torso, still call it a goblin. The Grave Digger's final wave music is a remixed version of Cursed Abbey. Coincidentally, the Raider Boss also used the same song, just not remixed. According to 1x1x1x1 in Classic Forest Camp, the Grave Digger is its camping buddy. The animation played when summoning is a reference to the Eureka Effect's teleport ability from Team Fortress 2. The Grave Digger loves tacos, as revealed through the Halloween 2025 Live Events.
