Description

The Gatekeeper was the second major boss that appeared in Krampus Frosthold as part of the Krampus' Revenge Event. It had a very high amount of health but it walked quite slowly. The Gatekeeper could not be frozen or or have the chillness effect applied to it by freezing towers, slowed down by the Toxic Gunner and it could only be slowed down by the Electroshocker and Warden instead of being stunned. It had one ability, Key Toss. This ability made the Gatekeeper throw its large key at the towers. The key would travel in a circular direction, which stunned towers hit by it before it returned back to the Gatekeeper.

Appearance

The Gatekeeper had pale skin and large pointy ears. It wore a jester's uniform, with alternative red and green colors on its clothing, red pants and gloves, and a brown belt. It had a red and green four-way pointed hat on its head that drooped downward, with the bottom part of it being entirely made out of gold, which also had multiple red and green jewels attached to it. It wore a golden breastplate, pauldrons and shoes, as well as golden lining on its clothes and face. It wielded a very large gold key that it used to attack towers with.

Strategy

Towers with high DPS towers, like the Accelerator, Minigunner or Engineer are recommended against the Gatekeeper. Stun immune towers, such as Ranger and Pursuit can be especially effective. The Commander and DJ Booth can be also useful at boosting the firerate and range of the towers respectively. As multiple weaker enemies accompany the Gatekeeper when it spawns, towers like the Pyromancer or Mortar can be useful at clearing them out. Placing down cheap towers as a distraction, like the Pyromancer or Commander, can be pretty useful at making the Gatekeeper not target your main offensive towers. The Gatekeeper can target cliff towers like Sniper and Ranger, but cannot stun them. These towers can also be used to prevent the Gatekeeper from attacking other important towers. The Gatekeeper cannot be frozen or slowed down by freezing towers or slowed down by the Toxic Gunner. The Jester's confusion bomb can be quite useful at slowing down the Gatekeeper. The Warden and Electroshocker can also be used, though they will only slow it down instead of stunning it.
